Cosmic Flow #1: "In the Folds" - 24" x 36" original, acrylic on stretched canvas

The “Cosmic Flow” series is a more intuitive body of work, with abstract forms materializing by the moment. Sometimes the formations come out of an accidental drop of the brush, or a gesture of strokes that comes from within, or an improvisational adventure. With these pieces I try to be more passive in my approach and go with the "flow," and am often pleasantly surprised by the vision that unfolds.

This piece, "In the Folds" is the first gallery piece of the series. I actually started off with a much more intentional, planned vision, but halfway through I was dissatisfied and decided to paint over the canvas completely with broad, abstract strokes, and this is the formation that resulted.
